High Noon
P. lutea hybrid

‘High Noon’ is an iconic tree peony, and likely the tallest of all them all. A mature bush can reach a height of 1.5 to 2 meters (5-7 ft.), without losing the typical columnar shape. Especially after blooming, the strong growth of new shoots is characteristic for this peony.
The large, lemon yellow and semi-double blooms have a delicious citrus-like fragrance and have nicely contrasting dark red flames at the base of the petals. ‘High Noon’ is renowned for her re-blooming in August, how cool is it to relive the joy of spring when the bronzing foliage is arousing feelings of fall!
We only carry tree peonies that we have tested extensively ourselves, and that have proven the ability to withstand several of our mostly nasty wet Dutch winters. Our collection of tree peonies characterizes itself by cultivars that all easily produce new ground shoots and easy flowering on first year branches, which holds promise for good performance even after the worst of winters.
All of our tree peonies are propagated by division only, and in fact no different than any of our other herbaceous and intersectional peonies. All our peonies do not have any foreign root, they are completely on their own roots!
This gives many advantages in comparison to the common way in which tree peonies are offered (grafted on a herbaceous nurse root). The main benefits include a flying start after planting, superior vigour and more than a fair chance on first year bloom already.
What’s more is that planting is just like for any herbaceous peony, which often proves to make the start a lot safer.
