Another peony from the endless collection of gorgeous creations by Prof. A.P. Saunders which you just cannot ignore. A low stature peony with truly fa-bu-lous foliage and very special flowers. The name ‘Picotee’ speaks for itself, the flowers have different colour edges. This already shows in bud, basically very light coloured flower petals are enchantingly beautiful veined and edged with magenta. As the blooms mature, this contrast between the edges and the rest of the petals grows larger which even enhances the spectacular effect. What’s more is that the flowers are situated right on top of breathtakingly beautiful oval-shaped foliage on a very compact bush. The blooms are carried graciously by the reddish stems, which is chipping in for even more contrast. Always so looking forward to see this baby bloom!
